National Important Cultural Property『Moji Mitsui Club』

It was completed in 1921 as a social club for the Mitsui & Co. Moji Branch. From 1949 to 1987, it was owned by the former Japanese National Railways and was used as the "Montetsu Kaikan". Due to the division and privatization of the former National Railways, it became owned by the Japan National Railways Settlement Corporation. It was later transferred free of charge to Kitakyushu City, where it was designated as a nationally important cultural property in March 1990. As part of the "Moji Port Retro Strait Tour Promotion Project," demolition began in July 1990 and relocation work began in March 1991 to relocate this building to the front of Moji Port Station for preservation and utilization.
